Are you hoping this will emulate Paul's "No Subject" thread on the English forum and go on for over 400 pages? :)

P.S. Dear Dave W, I ate cottage pie last week in our cafeteria. Delicious, indeed

I love cottage pie too. I believe it is the same as shepherd's pie, except that cottage pie is made with beef and shepherd's pie with lamb.

Oh dear,

This thread is rapidly becoming no place for a vegetarian—and in a Japanese forum too. I have enjoyed the very best vegetarian food when I have visited Japan—my friend and his wife took me to an amazing restaurant in Hiroshima where every course featured tofu in various forms. It was outstanding!

All the best, V :)

Hi Vesuvio,

Yes, Tofu is a miracle food. There is a curious book titled "Tofu and its 100 cuisines" that was published nearly 250 year ago. Original is saved in the Tokyo National Archives. You came to like it during your stay in Japan, didn't you? Otherwise, Tofu is popular and easily available around you? A brick of Tofu costs approximately $0.5 to $2.0. Real handmade one with high quality soybeans is rare and quite expensive. Visit Japan again I will tell you nicer hidden spots.

Sincerely :D
Whooper

Hi expat community,

whenever I go to Japan, I avoid Japanese food. Forgive me, but I don't like it  . Anyway, if it's not chocolate, or something with chocolate as an ingredient, chances are I won't like it!
:desole:

Last time I was with a Japanese friend, we were singing together on a deserted island (only singing!!!). But we kept a safe distance from each other's food. He found the things I'd taken with disgusting!!! Even when he ran out of food he didn't want to have my chocolate biscuits!!
